Can Aromatherapy Help Sell Homes?
Studies suggest, YES!

Studies have shown that a buyer's first-impression is made within 30 seconds of entering a home. As you make preparations to "set the mood" for your showing - making sure the lighting is just right and double checking everything is super clean - focusing a little more attention to the aroma could be make the most psychological difference during your showing.
Scent is registered by the brain faster than sight or sound. As soon as odor molecules are registered by nasal receptors, an array of areas are affected, including the limbic system, which is also known as the "emotional brain." This activates memory recall 🧠 and as you may have experienced before, could have a profound emotional effect - either positive or negative. This is completely up to the individual psyche.
In the unlikely event someone experienced trauma while eating a grapefruit 🍊, studies have also shown that grapefruit essential oil, among many others, have helped people suffering from anxiety and depression.

What modern medicine is to the modern doctor is what essential oils once were for the medicine men and herbalists. As science begins to discover more and more about our physiology the more we can travel back in time to understand and even validate our ancient ways of being.
According to a U.S. News & World Report article:
A 2013 study published in the Journal of Retailing by Eric Spangenberg, now the dean of the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California-Irvine, found shoppers spent an average of 31.8 percent more money in a home decor store when it was scented with a simple orange scent, rather than a blend of scents. The study, conducted while Spangenberg was dean of the College of Business at Washington State University, recommends using simple scents such as:

Herbal 🌿

Basil essential oil has a fresh, herbaceous aroma that can be calming and refreshing.
