5 Little Things That Make Me Smile Big!
Sometimes we forget how the little things in our lives can add up and truly make us happy. The inner child within us is always present, seeking humor, enlightenment, creativity, fun and adventure.
I decided to blog about this when I realized how awesome my most recent discovery within the Waze driving app was, which prompted me to think about what other little things make me smile big...
Enjoy the list!
Waze Toy Story Voice
The Waze app is constantly active on my phone. If you haven't heard of Waze, then you're missing out on a great way to avoid traffic, hazardous objects on the road (ahem, potholes), oh and heads up on the po-po!
One of my favorite features is the ability to plan your drives. Waze will let you know how early you should leave, calculating traffic patterns, to get you to your destination on time.
Recently, I learned you can customize and change the voice that speaks to you to notify you of these alerts. When I discovered Woody & Buzz Lightyear were available, I giggled and thought to myself, Why not?!
The settings on my phone are set to only speak out alerts.
As I'm driving and Waze picks up an alert that there is a policeman ahead, Woody will sometimes say, "Looks like I'm not the only sheriff in town!"
Or, if there is a hazardous object on the road, Buzz Lightyear will say, "Oh uh, I see danger ahead. Buzz Lightyear to the rescue!"
Yea, I know it's a bit cheesy, but if I'm being honest with myself, that makes me and my inner child smile big.
Sunbasket Meals
Look at this salmon salad with spinach, kiwi, bell peppers and avocados! Yep, Sunbasket definitely makes me feel empowered and confident in the kitchen.
I've been cooking with Sunbasket for over 6 months now. After trying Blue Apron, Freshly and a few other meal programs, finally I found one that I'm happy with. Sunbasket allows you to really customize your preferences, more so than any other company I've ordered from before.
Recently, I had two doctors confirm that I have serious food sensitivity that causes fatigue and a breeding ground for potential infections within my stomach. No more grains, gluten, dairy or heavy carbs.

Metaphysical Books
Feeling good requires that we immerse ourselves in consistent activities that nurture our soul. If all we do is work, even if we love what we do, work will get boring and dry up our spirits. We need to feed ourselves new and intriguing information that challenges us and makes us think.
Books on the esoteric, quantum physics, energy, healing, ancient history and anything mystical makes my world go round. I'm constantly expanding my consciousness and learning something new. You don't have to agree with everything you read, and I certainly do not. But having an open mind sure is a lot more fun and gives me the ability to use my imagination without any limitations.
Young Living™ Essential Oils
Although I only just recently starting offering Young Living™ Essential Oils on my website, I have been using oils for a while now. I started using oils about two years ago to help me with my anxiety, mind-chatter and insomnia.
I started using cedar wood on my wrists before bed. Then I invested in a diffuser for my bedroom and began using blends like Stress Away or Peace & Calming II. Sacred Frankincense is a favorite to diffuse when I'm reading, and lavender is my go-to at night when I'm getting ready for bed.
If you are interested in learning more about the science behind essential oils and what makes them so damn powerful & effective, I highly recommend this book by Carolyn L. Mein.
THIS BOOK WILL BLOW YOUR MIND.
For those of you that are interested in starting your journey with essential oils, I suggest that you do not buy them individually from me or any other place that sells them at retail price. For the absolute best prices, skip the middle man and go straight to the manufacturer by signing up as a member. This is the only way to save 24% off Young Living™ retail prices.
Herbal Teas
Yogi Tea is one of my favorite brands, but I am not necessarily brand-loyal. When it comes to teas, I enjoy trying a variety of sources, especially local brands.
I've mentioned that I have struggled with insomnia and mind-chatter that prevents me from getting the deep sleep I so desperately need. One of the most effective habits I have come to establish is drinking a bed-time appropriate tea.
Here's a pretty sweet deal on Amazon for a variety 6-pack with 96 bags for 26 cents a piece.
In the mornings, anything citrus-based is a great way to perk-up the day with a subtle boost of energy you won't have to worry about later, like Sweet Tangerine or Vanilla Spice.
