We're Shutting Down Production - Here's Why
Something major is happening in the jewelry industry right now, and it's forcing us to make some big shifts. In this email, I'm pulling back the curtain on what's going on with silver prices, how it's affecting production, what you can expect from us moving forward, and what this really means for you.
The Silver Situation
Last week, silver surpassed $90/oz—up 36% in the last month alone, 88.95% in the last 3 months, and 140% in the last 6 months. These aren't normal fluctuations. Jewelry distributors across the industry have completely halted silver buying, and producing new inventory at these prices just doesn't make sense right now.
If we moved forward with production, we'd have to raise prices by more than 30% just to break even. That's not good for you or for us.
What This Means for Restocks
We're hitting pause on all silver and gold jewelry production temporarily. No restocks are coming anytime soon (except what's already been in production). We're watching the market closely over the next 1-2 weeks, but realistically, we could be looking at 6-12+ months before restocks are feasible—if silver continues on this trajectory.
Here's What We're Doing Instead
While silver and gold prices continue to create an uncertain environment for us, we're going to lean more on our signature beaded gemstone jewelry this Spring and Guatemalan beaded jewelry to continue providing beautiful seasonal designs that aren't quite as affected as the semi-precious metal pieces. You can still expect fresh, stunning pieces from us—just with a different focus.
My Advice: Now is the Time to Buy
If you've been eyeing something from us (or any of your favorite jewelry brands), now is the time to grab it. If silver keeps climbing like this, we won't see these retail prices again. Silver could genuinely become the new gold.
