AUCTION: One-of-a-Kind Sterling Silver Iris Set — Choker Necklace & Ring

Beloved Collectors, something rare is finding its forever home this coming week.

We're releasing a one-of-a-kind Iris Set - a solid sterling silver choker necklace, matching pendant, and ring – into the world. This set was created as a master sample: a moment of curiosity in the design process to see if the Iris could become part of the collection. It can. But with silver prices where they are, we've decided this particular expression of it should live exactly as it is - singular, substantial, and unrepeated.

One of one. Not planned for future production.

Why the Iris?

The iris has been a symbol of power, wisdom, and divine communication for thousands of years - and nowhere wears that history more beautifully than New Orleans.

In ancient Greece, the iris was named after the goddess Iris, who was fabled to bridge heaven and earth as a messenger of the gods. In floriography - the language of flowers - the iris carries meanings of faith, courage, hope, and wisdom. The Romans planted irises on women's graves to summon the goddess to guide the departed soul safely onward – a flower not of ending, but of safe passage. Of transition. Of what comes next.

And then there is the fleur-de-lis. The fleur-de-lis is almost certainly a stylized iris – not a lily, as its name might suggest. Which means that the symbol woven into the identity of New Orleans, into our flags and our ironwork and our jewelry, has carried the spirit of the iris all along.

Here in New Orleans, the iris has its own living legacy. Founded in 1917, the Krewe of Iris is the oldest and largest all-female Krewe in New Orleans. While Iris became the first organization to have their tableau ball televised, they didn't begin parading until 1959.

Today, they parade with over 3,600 members and 35 tandem floats - named after the Greek goddess of the rainbow herself. Over a century of women claiming their place in Carnival, choosing a flower that has always meant power, wisdom, and the light that follows a storm.

That's the energy in this set. That's what I wanted to hold in silver.
